Our Role:

Public Art Associates collaborates with citizens, government representatives, teachers and administrators, funders and community volunteers to offer project consultation, design, management and construction from the inception of a project to its completion.A variety of levels of invovlement by PAA in a public art project are available.

Project #1 - Large Institution

Building construction, mural treatment, and landscaped courtyard.A professional project with the PAA artist team for a public or private institution or municipality. The team meets with project architects and designers to craft site-appropriate artwork. For an early integration project, PAA can consult on construction material options, landscaping, and other aesthetic and functional concerns.

PAA can participate in any or all of A, B, and/or C.

Project #2 - School Project

A school-based program, where PAA works with the teachers and administrators to design a public art project for their school. Implementation of the project is guided by PAA staff through initial meetings, periodic work sessions with students, and planning sessions with teachers. A mural or sculpture for the school is created and installed.

A community-based project where PAA works with a neighborhood group, a local art center, and the school district to facilitate a 10 session after-school program for area youth. The program's focus is the creation of a 5' x 10' ceramic tile mural for a local park.
